What a powerful experience to have the realization that nothing in the environment, circumstances or other people needed to change in order to feel complete, whole, at peace and satisfied.  It is like coming home to one's Self, awakening to a feeling that had long been forgotten.

Xavier Heditsian, Licensed Professional Counselor, in suit standing outdoors with a clock tower in the background. Offers therapy sessions in Cincinnati, OH to individuals, couples, and families. Specializes in anxiety, depression, PTSD, shame, guilt

When I meet with clients for the first time I often ask them the question "How would you know counseling was working for you?"  Commonly, the client will begin to discuss a different experience they would like to have in their life.

This may be in a relationship, career stressors, a life transition, loss/grief or experiencing overwhelming emotions like anxiety, depression, loneliness, guilt, shame, or fear.

Answering this question helps us to gain clarity about what you want to experience and begin the process of bringing it to fruition.

My mission is to best serve your needs; helping you to heal and unburden yourself of past hurts and fears while creating a meaningful and congruent life that is aligned with your highest values. I provide counseling and coaching to individuals, couples, and families throughout Cincinnati, OH.

I am also a licensed clinical supervisor in the state of Ohio and offer independent clinical supervision and consultation to LPC's and CT's needing supervision for their licensure.

I have seen that healing begins the moment one risks moving toward their pain. It requires courage to fully feel and explore the hurt, fear, anger, grief, shame, guilt or whatever may be experienced. As painful and uncomfortable as these emotions are to be fully felt and experienced, they are screaming out in hopes of garnering our attention, desperately yearning to be cared for, loved, and ultimately healed and released.

The voyage within- exploring one's deeper emotions, experiences and Self- is often avoided at all costs because it is imagined to be too painful or there is a sense that the excruciating feelings will be endless and could last forever. While embarking on this inner journey may be painful, uncomfortable, and difficult at various moments, I have seen there is a joy, peace, and love that resides behind the pain. Much like how the sun is always shining, however on a cloudy or rainy day- we sometimes forget it exists.

My intention is to create a safe and compassionate context for you to make this voyage of Self-exploration, discovery, growth and healing. I believe you are the expert of your own life and experience, and I can be a supportive guide to help you navigate this journey. It can be best summed up by what Dr. David R. Hawkins wrote in the book, Letting Go: The Pathway to Surrender:

"We fear that the inner voyage of discovery will lead us to some dreadful, awful truth. In its programming of our minds, this is one of the barriers that the world has set up to prevent us from finding out the real truth. There is one thing the world does not want us to find out and that is the truth about ourselves. Why? Because then we will become free. We can no longer be controlled, manipulated, exploited, drained, enslaved, imprisoned, vilified, or disempowered. Therefore, the inner voyage of discovery is cloaked over with an aura of mystery and foreboding. What is the real truth about this voyage? The real truth is that, as we go within and discard one illusion after another, one falsehood after another, one negative program after another, it gets lighter and lighter. The awareness of the presence of love becomes stronger and stronger. We will feel lighter and lighter. Life becomes progressively more effortless." -Dr. David R. Hawkins
